The Potter 19 comes with one cleat up forward, mounted on the centerline. That cleat was in the way more often than not. It was uncomfortable when sitting on deck, and snagged lines when we were setting up the mast. We decided to move the factory cleat to port and bought a matching one for the starboard side.

I also disliked having to use the deckplate as a chainpipe when anchoring. I wanted to be able to keep the cowl vent mounted there for ventilation, and I wanted to be able to fit a bug screen in it. Can't do that with anchor rode running through the vent, so I bought a nice chainpipe and Julie and I went to work. We are happy with the results.
